| History Of The Item: | Hello, This is Anita Bartlett-Picarella. Your request for an appraisal has been referred to me for reply. I have examined the information you provided. My opinon of value is based on the accuracy of this information. A direct examination may lead to different value concludsions and alter this opinion either way. Thank you for your fine photographs and descriptive information.Well what your have here is a tintype of Lincoln and one of his generals. Given the love of America for this great president, hundreds of copies were made in the decades following his death, if not thousands. Your tintype appears to be a 19th century copy of the original image taken for his campaign in 1860 but I cannot give you the exact date of the printing without thorough hand inspection. However, I am sorry to say that these are not uncommon. It has a very nice gilt frame which would date about the same time the print was made. |
| Appraiser Tips: | Keep out of direct sunlight, but there is nothing else to do with this. |
