Recognize the limitations of photo appraisals!
By: Will Gorges

A photoappraisal is not certified by any recognized agency for many solid reasons--images can be digitally enhanced, for example, to make something look better or worse. Minute details on items may not be obvious to the untrained eye and the owner may not provide as much information as needed to the appraiser. Accept the appraisal for what it is meant to be; a good guide to let you know the basic market worth for items such as what you own--but not the final word!
